Lucy "Lu" Corfield is a Welsh actress,[1] best known for playing Big Pam in the BBC Comedy Drama Candy Cabs, and Dr. Freya Wilson in BBC daytime soap opera Doctors.[2]
Raised in Four Crosses near Welshpool, Powys,[3] she became head girl at Welshpool High School.[4] Due to study English at university, she caught the acting bug through appearances with the Montgomeryshire Youth Theatre. After A-Levels, she wrote to Amnesty International to set-up a theatre in education company, with which she toured for two years.[3] She then relocated to London, and studied acting at RADA for three years.[5]
Since her graduation, Lu has worked in both stage and television. Television roles include Rev. (TV series), EastEnders, Holby City and Casualty,[1] Her theatre work includes shows at The Royal Court Theatre, The Young Vic and with The Royal Shakespeare Company.
Corfield lives in London with her fiancée Sion Owen.[3]
